F.A.Q.

HOW DOES IT WORK? 

We create a custom picnic  or event for you based on your contact form selections (guest count, occasion, location, style preferences, etc.). We deliver, set up, style your picnic and have everything ready upon your arrival. We stay at the picnic site to greet you and make sure nobody else decides to have your picnic! Once you arrive, we leave you to enjoy your experience for the reserved time. You are responsible for the items until we return to pack them up at the arranged time. Once we return to pack up, you are free to leave and enjoy the rest of your day or evening

 

BOOKING

When booking a picnic, first fill-in the contact form so we can get in touch with you and make sure we get all the details right. We will then show you the picnic and add on options, once you make a decision we will send you an invoice to be paid prior to the picnic. 

We require at least 72 hours notice for bookings so we have enough time to secure florals and make your picnic look great! We recommend booking at least  2-3 weeks in advance. The earlier you book your picnic the more possibilities. We have to accommodate you.

 

PRICING

Once you submit a contact form we will send you pricing and info dependent on your guest count and selections.

 

PAYMENT 

Once you have approved our proposal you will have until one week prior to the picnic to make a full payment. We might ask you to pay a small reserve fee in advance.

FOOD & BEVERAGE 

We do not provide our own food, we outsource everything, please feel free to bring your own food if you desire or order from your favourite restaurant with Thuis Bezorgd , Uber eats or any other preferred delivery apps. 

If you  decide to do this , we will personally make sure it gets to your exact picnic location so you don’t have to  go out and “find them” . 

 

Alternatively we offer food from restaurants nearby, please let us know if you are interested in any of these to show you their menus.

 

We are not allowed to serve alcohol by law. It is the responsibility of the Client to check alcohol laws of any venue or public space being used for one of our picnics. Most public parks and beaches prohibit alcohol consumption. Picnics and events takes no responsibility for any alcohol consumption or penalties occurred. 

 

PICNIC DURATION 

We allow up to 2 hours for each picnic. You may extend the time for an additional cost of €40. If you decide to cut it short, please let us know at least 30 min in advance so our items are not left unattended. You are responsible for the items until we return to pack them up at the arranged time.

For home located picnics there won't be a time limit and we could pick it up later in the day if its a morning/midday picnic or the next morning if its a night picnic.

 

SPECIAL REQUESTS 

We certainly do organised special events and custom requests!  Are you planning a proposal? An elopement? A surprise birthday party? A themed birthday party for children? A corporate meeting / dinner / borrel, you name it. Simply contact us to explore the possibilities and we will take care of the rest.

CANCELATION 

We understand that life happens, please notify us asap for a full refund (1 week in advance)

If we, Picnics and Events are not notified of cancellation, intent of rescheduling or change in venue a minimum of 48 hours hours prior to Picnic Date, no refunds  of any kind will be provided. Only partial refunds might be refunded depending on situation, subject of judgement by Picnics and Events. 

Additional costs for all the perishable items such as flowers, etc. will be incurred if cancelled less than 5 days prior to the picnic. 

-Rescheduled dates are subject to availability.

-No show means no refund.

-Being late will result in shorter picnic time, if you desire to extent the end time, a fee will be applied only if the time extension is available.

 

RESCHEDULE 

The picnic has a 3 month limit following the cancelled event for rescheduling and must be of equal or higher value.

 

WEATHER

Beach picnics can be tricky with this dutch weather conditions, if the weather forecast predicts rain for your picnic date, please contact us in advance of your picnic to discuss your options. We offer a change of date in case of heavy rain or a rain proof teepee. Also under a pier could be a cozy option in case of rain.

For private properties indoor picnics there won't be a change of date due to the weather conditions, only for outside picnics, if you don't have a rain safe space yourself.

 

CHANGES 

You will have up to 24 hours prior to the picnic date to make changes in locations, (for indoor-outdoor) , add items (if they are available) or reschedule due to weather conditions.

 

LOCATIONS 

We require to have easy vehicle access in the proximity, please check with us for any custom locations so that we can check its possibility with the city hall.

Customer chosen locations / venues are always welcome but will have to be approved by us t make sure its easily accessible by car and not far walking from the parking to the picnic location. Beach, homes with no lift and other hard to reach locations have an additional fee of  €50.

NOT INCLUDED 

Meals and other foods, such as cakes are not included, food in general will be outsource to some of our favourite vendors, but you can always choose to have your own. 

We can help to take care of the logistics.

 

DAMAGES

You will be responsible for all of the items until we return to pack them up at the arranged time. Accidents can always happen, if anything gets damaged , broken or stolen due to carelessness we will ask you to compensate for it if seems appropriate not due to an accident.

 

PETS

Feel free to bring you dog/s a fee of 10€ will be charged for them to have a cute area to join you, please only well behaved dogs will be welcomed.

If the dog has caused any damage or destroy any of our property you will be responsible for the damages occurred. 

 

ALLERGIES AND OTHER SPECIAL ISSUES

For any concerns you might have such as food allergies, material allergies, or any thing else we should know about, please let us know when booing your picnic so we can note it and keep it in mind, we want you to feel safe and cared for.
